Getting Started Preparation Checklist

Congratulations for completing student registration! Soon you will receive your school-loaned equipment and curriculum materials at your doorstep. While you wait for the boxes to arrive, review and complete each step in the Agora Cyber Charter School Preparation Checklist. Doing so will ensure you and your child are prepared for the first day of school and online orientation.

Web: Visit to stay up-to-date with school announcements, access helpful resources and receive information about student and parent services.

Email: Reply to the welcome email sent by the student’s teacher and/or Orientation Advisor if you have questions about the first day of school.

checkbox 1. Provide internet
  The parent or legal guardian is responsible for providing the student with a reliable and consistent internet connection prior to the first day of school. We recommend families purchase a high-speed connection(cable, DSL, FIOS, etc…) to maximize the experience of the curriculum and online classes. Each household is eligible for internet reimbursement.

checkbox 2. Check email regularly
School communication is sent to the email address provided during student enrollment. It is important the parent or guardian and Learning Coach check email regularly in preparation for the first day of school and to stay informed throughout the school year.
checkbox 3. Set up the Learning Coach and student Online School (OLS) accounts
Newly enrolled families must set up the Learning Coach and student Online School (OLS) accounts. Account setup can be completed using any electronic device with internet access. The Registration ID needed to setup the accounts is sent from to the email address provided during student enrollment.  Watch the video for step-by-step directions. Returning families will use their previous Online School (OLS) login credentials. A returning Learning Coach will log into their previous account to set up an account for additional students. Watch the video for directions. Video: Set up the student account using an existing Learning Coach account
checkbox 4. Log into the Online School
Visit and select the ‘Logins’ button on the right of the page. At the Logins page are several options. The ‘Parent OLS Login’ button is located on the right of the page. Enter your Username, Password and select ‘Login’. Upon initial login, students will need to select the small red ‘OLS Login’ button located in the middle of the page. Then type their Username, Password and select ‘Log In’. Students will learn during orientation how access their Online School account and other school applications using ClassLink.
checkbox 5. Track equipment and material shipments
Track the shipment of equipment and materials through the Online School. It’s especially important to track the laptop because it cannot be delivered without a signature from an adult. To track equipment and material shipments, visit Enter the Learning Coach Online School Username and Password. Select the student’s name and review the Orders and Materials tabs for shipment information. It is highly recommended that parents and guardians set up UPS My Choice alerts to receive a text message or email when school packages will be delivered.  To set up alerts, visit
Call or email your Orientation teacher or Family Coach if the laptop hasn’t arrived at least three days before the student’s first day of school.
checkbox 6. Set up school equipment & the school work space.
Every student receives a school-loaned laptop, printer and headset. It is important the school equipment is set up and tested prior to the first day of school. Follow the set up guide included with the school loaned laptop and printer. Be sure to unpack, organize and place all school materials in the student’s school work space. A good work space is quiet and free of distractions. It’s recommended to keep all boxes so you can return materials at the end of the school year, if requested. checkbox 7. Access the Class Connect configuration room
Access the Class Connect configuration room prior to the first day of school. Doing so ensures the school laptop is configured properly and the student can access online sessions. Click the link to access the room and follow the steps on the whiteboard. Class Connect configuration room. checkbox 8. Begin the Learning Coach Orientation Program
You are expected to complete the Learning Coach Orientation Program in addition to attending the live and online sessions for the Student Orientation Program. The Learning Coach Orientation Program consists of short, pre-recorded, online tutorials designed to give you information on the ‘what’, ‘why’, and ‘how’ of being a Learning Coach. Because the tutorials are pre-recorded you can complete at your convenience. This program, along with the knowledge you will share with us, makes for an incredible foundation of support for your student. Click the link to get started
