Several Agora special education administrators had the opportunity to attend the annual PDE, Bureau of Special Education Conference. The three-day conference titled “Making an Impact: Educational Practices that Work” took place in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The conference provided an exciting opportunity for the Agora special education department to network with other special education professionals from across the state. Over 25 nationally renowned speakers offered their knowledge in more than 50 educational sessions. Various training opportunities were available, including transition services, research-based instructional practices, equity and inclusion, legal practices, and personnel development.

Valerie Natale, Morgan Witman, and Erinn Slacktish attended the conference in person, while Maryann Johnson, Danielle Schall, Michelle Cukauskas, and Jen Lucia attended virtually. The special education staff is excited to put the lessons they learned from the conference into practice at Agora.
